Whats the difference between a racing suit and a jacket? Which one is more safer in an event of a crash? What EC rating?
I mean CE approved

The suite is head to toe gear. Usually heavy and thick padded. Not comfortable for just street riding. Specifically designed for high speed crashes on the track. The jacket is just that, a jacket. They make leather and mesh but the mesh will burn away quick if you’re sliding down the pavement. Leather with back, elbow, and shoulder pads is best. 750_Rider

racing suits have armor on the knees hips and butt, a jacket can have the same, like mine has armor on the elbows back and shoulders …….so do the math. mycoldfeet

Get one with CE approval for the whole suit rather than just armour.

Many jackets come as part of a two piece suit which can be zipped together, obviously a jacket won’t protect your lower half, a jacket can ride up in the event of a slide down a road. Tim D
