how can i jump off dirt jumps and bunnyhop with my heavy bmx?

I have a heavy bmx bike. Whenever I bunnyhop with my bmx I don’t go as high as I usually do with my other bikes. I have a bunch of dirt jumps that i can go high on with my friends bmx’s, but with this one I can’t go as high. It’s around 30-32 pounds and its pretty beasty. Is there a way I can use it?

Either lean back and pre-load for the jumps, not sure about bunny hops, or get a MTB.
