Can a BMX bike survive on a rocky terrain?
I have a free-style bike and I want to go hiking with it but I can’t afford a mountain bike.

The bike will survive, but you might not
A BMX bike is designed for durability, but mainly good for control on smooth surfaces (concrete). You’ll do better on hard-packed dirt. singletrack65
my freind did my local mtb trail on his bmx. the bike will be fine but, the semi slick tires will have no traction on loose dirt, and 20 inch tires will have a hard time rolling over large rocks, also the gearing isnt great for climbing. You could ride smoother parts on the trail with not much difficulty, but you might have dismount alot on rough or steep parts, this wont be to bad if your bike is light, so its doable but will be difficult. cromes
